Care of Jewellery

How to take care of your jewellery.

Do not shower, sleep, expose your jewellery to harsh chemicals, or exercise while wearing your jewellery.

Do not wear your jewellery while applying hairspray, perfume,  lotions or other skincare products. Do not clean your jewellery with an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner or abrasive fabrics. Avoid intense and/or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Some gemstones are sensitive to the sun and colours may become muted if exposed for a great length of time.

Sterling Silver-

to keep oxidization to a minimum, clean  by gently rubbing with a  silver jewellers cloth. Take care to keep away from the gemstones as certain types can be damaged by the chemicals in the cloth.

Silver Plated —

care for as sterling silver. Excessive rubbing can cause wear to the finish of the metal, resulting in the copper core being exposed.

Anodised Aluminium–

can be washed in mild soapy water and rinsed in clean water. Pat gently to dry. Keep the silver plated clasps as dry as possible and clean by rubbing gently with a silver jewellers cloth.

Pearls–

Keep dry and away from all chemicals. Buff gently with smooth cloth to keep the luster. Pearls will retain their sheen the more that they are worn.
