April Birthstone
The traditional April Birthstone is Diamond. Held to be the most popular of all gemstones. It is made of pure carbon and is the hardest natural substance of the planet. As a consequence they should always be stored separately as they can damage other jewellery.
Mythology of Diamonds
The name diamond comes from the Greek adamas, meaning invincible.
In many cultures the diamond was assigned to Venus It was said to represent justice and virtue. In the Middle Ages it was said to symbolise strength, courage and invulnerability.
It was thought to protect the wearer from danger and encourage a noble character.
The reputation of bringing bad luck is said to be caused by the gem having been obtained by stealing or other unjust means. Most famous diamonds have earned this over the years.
Diamonds in crystal healing.
It is said to;-
endow the wearer with clear insight into their own situation.
cope with life’s trials and tests.
ennoble the character
help overcome fear, depression and a lack of meaning in their life.
achieve better control of our inner images, feelings an moods.
bestows the ability to learn easily.
